End the destitution of refused asylum seekers

Write to your MP and demand that humane treatment is made a key part of the asylum process.

When an asylum seeker has their case refused the Government withdraws all accomodation and support, expecting the asylum seeker to return to their country within 21 days. The countries they expect them to return to include Zimbabwe, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Eritrea, all countries where individuals can face grave human rights abuses and violence.

Unable to return and unable to support themselves in the UK failed asylum seekers often fall into destitution and make up a hidden population, living a hand to mouth existence and surviving on the charity of other people.  The current system of asylum in the UK is both inefficient and inhumane. Write to your MP now to demand a change is made and that the people who have fled their homes in fear are treated in a respectable way in the UK.
