Hengameh Shahidi is a journalist and a member of the National Trust Party. She was arrested on the 30th June and is being held without charge.
Amnesty considers her to be a prisoner of conscience although it is unclear whether she has been arrested because of her journalistic, or political activities.
Hengameh is now being held in solitary confinement. It has been reported that she has been on hunger strike since the 25th of August.
This means that it's vital that we send our appeals urgently to ensure that her health does not deteriorate and that she is released as quickly as possible.
