Email your MP and help Binyam Mohamed

Write to your MP asking them to raise this case in Parliament, calling on the UK government to redouble their efforts to have Binyam Mohamed released from Guantanamo and be given access to fair trial if there are proper charges to be answered

Amnesty International is seriously concerned for the health and well-being of Binyam Mohamed. His mental and physical health are reported to be precarious after years of indefinite detention, and alleged torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment in Pakistan, Morocco, Afghanistan and Guantanamo.

If concerted action is not taken,  there is a good chance he will lose his mind or his life.  We must not let this happen.

Binyam Mohamed has shown signs of being suicidal. His military lawyer has attempted to obtain an independent examination of Binyam Mohamed's mental health, but this request has been denied. Recently the Military commissions convening authority announced that all charges in the case of Binyam Mohamed were being dropped however, the US Department of Defense has indicated that it will refile charges in the coming weeks despite the fact that Binyam's lawyers believe that the evidence against him has been extracted by torture.

The UK government must redouble its efforts to secure Binyam's release from Guantanamo Bay and his return to the UK where he can access a full and fair trial if there are any proper charges against him.
