Human rights activist Hu Jia is currently imprisoned in China, whilst his wife and young daughter are under house arrest.
The more Hu Jia has done for human rights, the more the Chinese government have done to keep him quiet. He was arrested for 'inciting subversion' after publishing articles on the Internet and speaking to foreign media in an attempt to improve human rights in China.
Since his arrest, his wife, Zeng Jinyan, has been harassed and placed under house arrest, but this has not deterred her. Committed to seeing her husband freed, as well as continuing his work, she kept a blog of their struggles until the government shut it down.
The Chinese authorities have now stopped her from even visiting Hu Jia, and confiscated the letters he has been sending. Write a letter calling for his immediate release and re-unite a family who are battling against the odds.
