Human rights defenders are working in extremely dangerous circumstances in the Russian Federation, especially in the North Caucasus. During this year, several human rights defenders have been brutally killed.
Failure of the authorities to investigate the murders of human rights activists is a strong indication that the authorities are at least passively compliant in these crimes.
Take action now and urge the Russian authorities to continue an impartial, thorough and independent investigation into the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, and to bring all those responsible, including those who ordered the killing, to justice.
