&lt;p&gt;It shows what a single act of non-violent action can achieve - yes the tanks eventually rolled on, but that single act of defiance against violent repression shook the dictators.  Is it a co-incidence that in November of the same year, Berliners were confident about climbing their wall and defying the East German border guards?  And gradually the iron curtain fell?  I don't think so.  When people under oppression realise that when as one they can ahieve freedom (sadly, even with some sacrifices), it changes everything.  And those of us who live in freedom must be there to support and help when the time comes.   &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;</description>
