Campaign latest:
10 years on and Guantánamo is still open. Sign our new petition and remind President Obama we've not forgotten.
The War on Terror - here, in the US, or anywhere else - doesn't excuse states from respecting human rights.
Terrorism is not a new phenomenon but the 'war on terror' is.
While Amnesty acknowledges the right of governments to protect their citizens when they face complex challenges and threats, these measures should never result in the compromise of human rights.
President Obama ordered the suspension of military trials and the closure of Guantánamo Bay, but has failed to carry out either. Here in the UK, an enquiry into the UK's role in rendition and torture must be strengthened to make a difference.
Our campaigning is working but there's still more to be done - take action today, just look at the box to the right for what you can do right now.
Security with Human Rights
Torture is the most despicable act and should be stopped.
