Aloha's thoughts:
I would like to point out the level of hatred in comments on Blogger: Voices Revealed,
I find the aggression behind most of the reactions alarming.
I left there a comment myself (August 29, 12:35PM).

If that's so, Tatarize, I apologise. Thanks for the comment. It's interesting to see you here. What a coincidence that I chose the very contribution by a person who browse this website, isn't it ?
Aloha, if you had read my comment you'd notice that what you quoted was my impression of the previous comments. I was making the same point as you. The previous comments were egregious.
"I reacted to the guys before me, e.g. by Tatarize from August 28, 2009 4:44 AM: 'I hope they electrocute his balls and then he burns forever in hell.'"
My full comment was:
I'm amazed at how quickly people go from saying God forgives anything you ask him to forgive, to saying "I hope they electrocute his balls and then he burns forever in hell."
-- At least this guy is around to tell us atheists how sinful our lives are.
*******
I certainly wasn't advocating torture or eternal damnation. I was commenting on, get this, the violence and condemnation seen throughout the blog posts. In fact, I'm rather sure my post was the first such post. The comment you quoted to show how bad the previous comments were, was my analogy as to how bad the previous comments were.
That fact has occurred to me, A.C.
Aloha, has it occurred to you that some of the uneducated, ignorant and narrow minded people making those aggressive comments might have been victims of child abuse themselves?

another example of a lynch mob
Had a look at the website again, most of the contributions made after mine are more balanced .. I reacted to the guys before me, e.g. by Tatarize from August 28, 2009 4:44 AM: 'I hope they electrocute his balls and then he burns forever in hell.'
Antonio: I mentioned the negligence of police (amongst other things) in my comment on blogger.com. You basically repeat the things I already mentioned there.
Aspidistra Comstock: thanks for your comment. I'm not going to let myself get sucked into anything. And the comments of a lynching mob didn't shock me, but I wanted to draw the attention to their aggressivity anyway. The comments show a lack of education, ignorance and narrow vision and these always cause problems in a long term, not mentioning that they have no effectiveness and so energy that could have been used for bringing the police and FBI towards the justice is wasted.
And re to your 'It is hard to think of the perpetrator in a humane and balanced way when you consider what the victim has been through.'
You are against child abuse, you are compassionate with the victim but you can still express yourself in a humane and balanced way about the case. And I doubt that you'd waste your time on a website like that, competing whose comment is going to be more 'juicy' ..
Cases like this one are the most testing for anyone who is against the death penalty or who believes in the rehabilitation of prisoners, especially those convicted of sexual abuse towards children. It is hard to think of the perpetrator in a humane and balanced way when you consider what the victim has been through. The downside to the internet is that it gives everyone a chance to express their opinions to an unlimited degree but I am surprised that these reactions have come as a shock to you. I sometimes come across activists who are so concerned to uphold the human rights of a defendant that they forget that the victim of the crime has rights too. Please don't get sucked into that. I would agree with Antonio that this case will lead to a great many questions being asked and I hope that one of them is how the case was dealt with by the police and other agencies. I hope also that anyone commenting on this case will point out that no one has at yet has been found guilty of this crime.
With all due respect. What were you expecting from people when they have the chance to say whatever they feel they must say to a child abuser? One thing is what they say in the moment because they might feel offended but other thing is that these people will have the power and the will to do whatever they say. And another thing... I think what is really alarming here is how useless the police and the law stand in front of the society but of course, as long as you guys follow the rules there´s no problem but what happens when the law and the police department as well don´t even know how to keep a rule and hence, they turn out to be a the "BAD example" for all the people. Instead of being just surprised or concerned about people's comments and the sick guy who has been haunted, you should also be asking the COPS a lot of questions too.
