Stop the execution of Troy Davis
On Friday evening, Troy Davis was issed a stay of execution by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The stay is expected to last for a month.
This is great news, and I will be updating you more once we have all the information that we need. In the meantime, Monday evening's vigil at the US Embassy is CANCELLED.

I have been following Troy's case for a year plus now, and try to respond to all Urgent Actions. I was so upset and incensed that I emailed all the politicans I had access to. Fortunately my MP is opposed to the Death Penalty and followed up with an email and phone call, today Monday 27.10.08. He promised to raise the issue with the American Embassy as a matter of urgency. Thank God for the 'stay' lets hope prayer, protest, and compassion will win the day. Love from a little lady in the UK who will keep on trying.
They might not make their decision on Monday but it could be anytime from then on.
I hear the stay of execution was issued only 2 hours beforehand. Can't imagine what that does to someone after 17 years on death row. Let's hope the right decision is reached on Monday. We need to keep the pressure up.
