The Stop Violence Against Women campaign focuses on ending violence against women in these situations. Our ultimate goal is basic human rights for women and girls everywhere.

1 out of every 3 women in the world has been raped, beaten or abused
It is now more dangerous to be a woman than a soldier in modern conflict
30% of people in the UK think that violence against women is OK. 50% think it should be kept behind closed doors
One in four local authorities leave female victims of violence without support

Women in Iran are considered second class citizens and the Iranian governement terrorise women's rights defenders - in the UK hundreds of women are unable to access basic levels of protection and support because of their vulnerable immigration status.

We believe women deserve to feel safe, so we're working with governments, women's rights activists and groups to bring attackers to justice and to offer all women better protection.
