In Carlisle (UK) a daily candle is lit to remind people that Amnesty International never sleeps, never flags and never forgets those whose Human Rights have been denied. We are the voice of those forbidden to speak. We are the ever present reminder to regimes that their deeds are noticed and above all, we never cease to care deeply and with compassion, for all those imprisoned for their belief that the world could and should be better.
