I think we, as a people, need to go ahead and admit that gay rights are a civil rights issue. It's a regulation of personal and private behavior, an invasion of privacy, and the worst of the totalitarian instincts of the human species. When Constance McMillen was barred from taking her partner to her prom, it was entirely right to bring the ACLU on board – luckily for her, they don't charge so she won't need payday loans for attorney fees – to back up her student rights to bring whoever the heck she darn well saw fit to the prom, as long as that person wasn't a danger. When, oh when, will everyone grow up about this issue?
Hope you like it!

View all comments (7 more)The situation in Iran is quite worrying. I agree with Alex. Let's take action and help these incredibly brave people!
Any sensible questions gratefully received. Please read my profile content before you do this. The context and tone of this is informal but serious.
How hateful, ' PrincessPeaceHamster', that a comment like yours is left on Amnesty's website!
Your Ignorance is truly shocking...

great action! - and thank you for adding the 70th Hell station on our Hell station map http://bit.ly/hellstation
Of course, I've just sent you an e-mail. :)
Great photos Tialda! Please could you email the photos to student@amnesty.org.uk, so we can use them in New Release (Amnesty's youth magazine)?
Thanks,
Hannah Shaw (Youth Coordinator, Education & Student Team)
