Very interesting.
I recently read a new book that denounces the subject, in fact, it was that novel that opened my eyes to this issue. Of course it is only entertainment, but sometimes this is the way to raise awareness on the general public. The book is called Coltan, by spanish author Alberto Vazquez-Figueroa. Check it out!

I remember watching this video last year. It's funny how so few people don't realise how their desire for technology contributes to civil war over mineral wealth.

View all comments (7 more)Especially important. Rape in these regions, I would guess, is sometimes linked with severe mental disorders and HIV. This is absolutely abhorrent, because aswell as women being shaken up to a degree which is totally unacceptable, there is the problem of chilren being born with HIV. An exacerbation of a terrible problem.
When I hear about situations like this it makes me so sad that people have become so desperate and wreckless.
I accidentally rated this as a 1, but it deserves 5 stars. After having read this I was left with a powerful feeling of wanting to help. There is always something that can be done. Spread awareness to others by sending the link on and discussing the matter.
It is something that everybody ought to know about.
