It's time for The European Parliament to act instead of talk!
Just what are the Japanese government bothered about? that it will cost them too much? Oh come now, it cannot be that can it? I think the European Parliament should start demanding rather than urging.
That was a very sad story. I've meet some prisoner's and people who are detained even if they are not guilty for a crime. This makes me feel distressed. And recently, regardless of a global whaling moratorium, Japan exploits a loophole that allows legal whaling for research purposes. However consistent harassment from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Japan's waning appetite for whale meat could end Japanese whaling in Antarctica permanently.

Hakamanda Iwao's story was given to me to create an artpiece on for Amnesty's "masterpeace" exhibition. I am overwhelmed by the tragic injustice of his story. I want to encourage those wonderful souls who are actively pursuing his case.
It takes a lot of GUTS to stand up after all this time and admit your envolvement in such 'Injustice' and against such a harsh regime...!
I feel for both of them (the judge + inmate) : (
Thanks to Amnesty International - we ALL have a voice now! : ) xxx
Let's keep up the fight to get the death penalty ended world-wide!
There's no way back on this one if we get it wrong and as two wrongs never make a right, we get it wrong everytime the death penalty is carried out.
Watch this video - then take action.
People around the world are lobbying the Japanese Justice Minister asking for a re-trial for Hakamada Iwao. Get involved now at: www.amnesty.org.uk/hakamada
