Indian brutality on Bangladeshi people crossed the limit. Now it is clear they are not friend of Bangladesh any more. Now they are another enemy like Pakistan of Bangladesh. Recent killing Bangladeshi innocent people at the border, building dam on Bangladeshi rivers and their brutal activities have surprised the Bangladeshi people.

In 1992 whilst travelling the world in his 20s Billy Burton found himself in dire financial difficulty and made a terrible decision to carry 5kg of cannabis out of the Philippines. The campaign to secure Billy’s freedom does not condone what he did. It is about humanity, compassion and recognition of punishment served. Billy was given 40 years, he has now served 18 years with 22 years to go. There is now a new president in the Philippines and he has instigated a review into fairness within the justice system. We are asking everyone to write letters to 4 key contacts in the UK and in the Philippines, we have a website with contacts, addresses and downloadable letter templates.

Online classified ad websites like Craigslist have become the largest marketers of children trafficked into the commercial sex industry. The steady stream of exploited children for sale on Craigslist has had anti-trafficking groups demanding change for years. In the past 12 months, a trafficking survivor whose pimp forced her to advertise for her own statutory rape on Craigslist at age 11 wrote an open letter to Craig Newmark asking him to remove the “adult services” section where she was sold. Cash-strapped nonprofits rejected donations from the Craigslist Foundation as tainted money. And 10,000 Change.org readers signed a petition asking Craigslist to stop profiting from child sex slavery.

A secret video showing US air crew falsely claiming to have encountered a firefight in Baghdad and then laughing at the dead after launching an air strike that killed a dozen people, including two Iraqis working for Reuters news agency, was revealed by Wikileaks today.

The footage of the July 2007 attack was made public in a move that will further anger the Pentagon, which has drawn up a report identifying the whistleblower website as a threat to national security. The US defence department was embarrassed when that confidential report appeared on the Wikileaks site last month alongside a slew of military documents.

China orders journalists to retrain in communist theory

China wants to crack down on press freedom and introduce a new training system that requires journalists to train in Marxist and communist theories of news.

Li Dongdong, deputy director of the General Administration of Press and
Publication, told the South China Morning Post that some mainland reporters were giving Chinese journalism a bad name because they were not properly trained.

Under communist theories of journalism, media should support the leadership rather than operate as a watchdog.

It felt like a minor terror alert. Four security guards were watching me, whispering into microphones on their collars. A plainclothes police officer had just covered my camera lens, mentioned the words "hostile reconnaissance" and told me I would be followed around the city if I moved.
Two uniformed officers were on their way to stop and search me under section 44 of the Terrorism Act, he said. Special Branch, the police counter-terrorism unit linked to the secret services, had been informed.

Jail threat for donkey bloggers

Two bloggers from Azerbaijan are facing up to five years in jail after posting a video of a donkey giving a news conference on YouTube.

Shortly after the video was released, Andnan Hajizade and Emin Milli were held on hooliganism charges following a scuffle in a restaurant.

NKorea: Ex-President Bill Clinton in Pyongyang

SEOUL, South Korea — Former U.S. President Bill Clinton made a surprise trip to North Korea on Tuesday amid an international standoff over the country's nuclear program and concerns about two U.S. reporters imprisoned in Pyongyang since March.

Clinton landed in Pyongyang in an unmarked jet Tuesday and was greeted at the airport by North Korean officials, including chief nuclear negotiator Kim Kye Gwan and vice parliamentary speaker Yang Hyong Sop, footage from APTN Pyongyang showed. He smiled and bowed as a young girl presented him with flowers.

His visit also serves as a purpose for amnesty of two reporters jailed.

It should have been a brief trip. Last Wednesday, Natalia Estemirova, known to her friends as Natasha, left her flat in the Chechen capital, Grozny, and set off towards the bus stop. Usually, it took her 15-20 minutes to get to work – a bumpy ride in a shared No 55 mini-van, down an avenue of green tower blocks, past giant posters of Chechnya's warlord president Ramzan Kadyrov, and several of Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin.
On this occasion, she didn't make it. A hundred metres beyond the entrance of her 10th-floor flat – which overlooks a patch of grassy wasteland and a grove of shabby walnut trees – four gunmen were waiting.

Venezuela's government has revoked the licences of more than 200 radio stations and forced satellite and cable television to broadcast many of President Hugo Chávez's speeches live.
The government said the new regulations would deepen the country's socialist revolution and combat "media terrorism" by privately owned networks. Critics said they were an attack on free speech.
Terrestrial TV channels have long been obliged to interrupt regular programming to transmit Chávez's speeches - they can last more than four hours - when he declares what is known as a "cadena".

Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers has paid out more than £1m to settle legal cases that threatened to reveal evidence of his journalists' repeated involvement in the use of criminal methods to get stories.
The payments secured secrecy over out-of-court settlements in three cases that threatened to expose evidence of Murdoch journalists using private investigators who illegally hacked into the mobile phone messages of numerous public figures and to gain unlawful access to confidential personal data including tax records, social security files, bank statements and itemised phone bills. Cabinet ministers, MPs, actors and sports stars were all targets of the private investigators.
