Outrageous and disgusting!

I am amazed who silent the world and Amnesty are regarding Shalit. He is imprisoned, no organisation is allowed to visit him and he is rotting and no one seems to care. It is obvious from the film that he is frightened and very slim. 5 years in captivity and even the France (he has dual nationality) has not intervened to free him. How come? they managed to free the majority of journalists who were kidnapped in Iraq where there are many groups and the difficulty is to know who is holding whom; France chose to ignore Shalit despite knowing who is holding him.
excellent piece of journalism. I shall ask the UN also to employ a full independent enquiry with decisions for consequence.
I believe we have seen too much suffering of the Palestinian people as well as abuses of their rights. Illicit use of bombs and weapons make things even worse. However even the Israelis have a right for peaceful living. What comes out very strongly in this context is the disproportionate
use of force by the Israelis towards the Gaza people. I appeal that any
reported abuses would be thoroughly investigated.

View all comments (7 more)This is a well needed reminder of the suffering of the ordinary people of Gaza. It is so easy to forget what happened just a few months ago. I will take action to ask the UN to support an enquiry now I have watched this.
An absolutely absorbing, emotional 5 minutes of film that very simply tells the victims side of the story. This would be an ideal piece of film to show the public by whatever means, to enforce the fact that the people of Gaza have suffered horrendously during the most recent military strikes. You cannot fail to be moved by this.
I think that the organisations mentioned in this blog are the sensible way forward for Palestine and Israel
Wish I had been there. The shoes are as numerous as our tears for the people caught up in conflict
More excellent images shared with us thanks to you, Vero. And so good to see our brave Jewish friends with us as usual. So many hearts around the world are with the people of Gaza now. It is difficult to imagine the anguish of this hour, and words seem so futile. I wish ill on no-one. I wish for a just world for everyone. I wish for peace. Thank you again, Vero.
Woohoo! Glad to see so many people demonstrating against the Gaza conflict.
Thank you Vero and Faruk for these poignant images. I feel that I cannot speak about the unspeakable. My heart goes out to the people of Gaza. My heart goes out to all of the people who suffer to bring peace through justice for all.
