As an x souh african and a former anti-apartheid activist there myself in the 80s, Mirium Makeba was such an icon for those who fought racism, she spoke out for us on the world stage. I am deeply sadened to hear of her death!
It's almost depressing to have someone point out, quite legitimately that in many places around the world there are countries that are manipulating 'war on terror' tactics, particularly the legitimization of torture (?!) for their own ends, and in a broad context within their state legal systems,. but it's true. Like coming across a comment added to a news article in a well read US newspaper that had posited, completely unchallenged, that deprecation of the poor was justified in order for the succesful and rich to prosper - in the context of the article it just does'nt bear repeating here.....Not a good time for apathy.
I applaud this video, the man speaks so much sense and shows so much compassion.
