What people are saying about Tiananmen Square

  • Those Chinese students seemed very cautious and extremely evasive in their answers whilst being interviewed as they knew all too well that any comments or signs of recognition of the 'Tank Man' would cause them much trouble. I think that they knew who he was and the context, but were too frightened to say so. This says as much about the firmly controlling hold that the Chinese Authorities have on this once 'rebelious' enclave, which of course will not be tolerated. China may have done some 'window dressing' to suggest that contact with the 'West' has perhaps had some effect, but there is a very long way still to go before true freedom of speech, information and thought is available to the Chinese people.

  • Glad to see students taking action :)

  • Brilliant! I love the mini Chinese Embassy!
