What people are saying about Tibet

  • South Africa needs to remember its own history.

  • And there I was thinking it might be because the National Peoples Congress think Oasis are old-school, guitar-wielding plodders...

  • As Europeans express their support for the Dalai Lama the real test of China's newly gained small steps toward greater freedom will have been passed once prison doors are opened for good, both in China as well as in Tibet. A strong country should be confident to allow for and tolerate a great diversity of different ideas and lifestyles, within and without national borders.

If communication is blocked by ever increasing cycles of fear the manifold problems confronting humanity today can't be solved. Both China and Europe know that however divergent political opinions may be interpreted, sustained confrontation will eventually result in the destruction of both peoples, whereas mediation should offer the greatest chance to achieve lasting results, beneficial not just for China's great, good and poor, but also for the inhabitants of the rest of the world.
