I served in both police and prison service long ago, know the horrors and stress inside prisons, have been there when a man was hanged. I do not send cards to inmates now, find a long letter to both prisoner governor and inmate more beneficial. "The light is within us. Let the light shine." Let us band together and keep fighting 'em (To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause.) Bless you all.

This is harrowing and shows that society is not moving forward but turning a blind eye to injustice and again unfairly persecuting minority / disadvantaged groups.

You just know when someone starts a sentence with "I'm not a racist, but...", they are going to say something utterly racist!

I believe that President Obama can do his job very well. We just have to understand that nobody is perfect and he sometimes can’t control everything. Now, he has many critics and Gore Vidal is one. He started off working for MGM, co wrote the epic Ben-Hur, and wrote Myra Breckinridge, a groundbreaking novel about a post-op transsexual. He's been a fierce critic of a lot of things, but lately in interviews he's been taking aim at Barack Obama, as he doesn't think he's doing anything good, and that we will see a dictatorship arise in the United States. (How it's going to work is that the Republicans will take over after Barack fails in the next election and things will get out of control – and he isn't alone in that opinion.) This is why I'm totally against the death penalty, it's barbaric. I think it's so much more a punishment if they are left in jail to think about what they've done. If killing is wrong it's wrong even if it's done in the eyes of justice.
