Inspirational. Thanks to all the brave people of Zimbabwe and the world.
MDC Formations Must Have Common Interests The war of attrition is regrettable, but not surprising.
There is an infantile quality to the behaviour of the men and women who are supposed to be leading the struggle for change and that is a shame because many ordinary people trust them with their lives. It is regrettable because it shows them succumbing to the divide-and-rule tactics perfected for so long by their supposedly common adversary, Zanu PF.
But it is hardly surprising because these parties parted ways very acrimoniously in 2005 and all attempts to re-unite them so far have been in vain.
The relationship broke down irrevokably a long time ago and to expect them to toe the same line on all issues is wishful thinking. This division has worked in favour of Zanu PF, which despite its many internal problems, has remained resolutely united on the public platform. :

hi Vashka
it would be FANTASTIC if you could follow this link and sign your name on Sofia's petition, and send it to her group, Women Asylum Seekers Together (address given). Even better if you could gather some more names.....
Thank you so much for your help
all the best Ciara
This is so unfair! Where can I find her petition so I can sign it?
This was an act of retribution against areas known by the government to have voted for the opposition during the last parliamentary elections in 2005 and was a means of checking the power and influence of the war veterans
Jenni Williams -- fight on, struggling spirit !! Yet hers & many similar movement stories share a problem. They call to my heart but share no lesson or path with it.Perhap that would've been the gift of a politics more specifically Matabele / Zimbabwean / crossbreed / underclass --- not a general universalistic fempacifism that grapples with identities without forging distinctions. And mention of Mugabe's land reform offered a chance to learn --- if it was about redistriibuting wealth, where did it err, & is there a valid question here, in a settler - colonised land, of expropriating ( rich ? ) white settlers in order to benefit the landless & poor black farmers ? The story of Obama's victory lifting her spirits fits in with the worst sort of generalized, Mandelaesque politics that's proved to be a dead end for neighboring South Africa, the replacement of struggle with illusions, & Tsvangirai's even worse than Mandela. History's question : Where do the Matabele & Shona nations go from here, & should their ways divurge ? Is the idea of the Zimbabwean & other nationstates one of false nationalisms got from imperialism & destructive of Africa & her traditional cultures ?
We are classssss.
Ah, this is inspirational. Some very nice artwork there. I hope that the day itself went well. The situation in Zimbabwe cannot go on indefinately, but how much courage and suffering of women and men must we yet witness? And so, congratulations to the Amnesty Youth Group for raising awareness of the courage of the women who struggle against oppressions of many forms in Zimbabwe. And thank you again Fifi, that we may be witness to these fine endeavours.
