  • Many civilians die in every war including justified ones

  • A warped sense of justice and an inhuman and warped idea of self defence against civilians. Look at the amount of dead on both sides. It is perverse, if not psychotic that the state called Israel perceives itself to have a right to massacre civilians in the name of self defence.

It is the equivalent of the apartheid state of South Africa giviing itself the right to massacre the population of Soweto because it's citizens supported the ANC. Even they were not that bold (?) The state called Israel is the controlling power and therefore has overridding responsibility to act lawfully and humanely, especially since it has created the situation. The minority Palestinians do not have equal bargaining power and are often ignored while the state called Israel quietly makes life oppressive and unbearable in the background for months and years on end. It is not surprising that people will react, and I - unlike Cherie Blair QC - will not withdraw that statement.

  • Let's not forget that people in Gaza voted in Hamas, whose program includes elimination Israel, genocide of the Jews and that means a sure WAR WITH ISRAEL. Now they got that war and lost it badly.

Israel has a right to self-defence. Hamas still refuses to recognize it. The question is: what to do next?

  • This is about accountability. It isn't about sides or agendas. Neither side has acted responsibly.

Those responsible for these atrocities on BOTH sides (Israeli army/government AND Hamas) must be stopped. They must be prevented from being able to continue their bloody actions and be brought directly to an international court. Where justice may be served squarely upon them.

Then we can being to make the lives remaining there worth living again.

This has nothing to do with the Holocaust and bringing it up helps no-one.

  • THANKS! it's about time some one speaks up for the Palestinians!

Israel has no moral value. They've done more than the holocaust to the Palestinians.

What happened to our humanity, when it comes to the Arabs.. I don't hear any one is crying anti-Semitic.

  • It appears we all want to provide a balanced view, so as not to arouse any more anger, or be accused of being anti-muslim or anti-semitic; however there is no balance to the level of atrocities perpetrated or to the injustices done. Palestinians must be given back the land that has been illegally seized by Israel since 1967 and all blockades removed. Only this will stop the rockets!!

  • Yes, absolutely right. We have to keep trying to convince Israel to
    lift all blockades.
