vero's thoughts:
'The Stuff of Life' exposes the reality of the 'waterboarding' torture technique. The CIA uses waterboarding. President George Bush thinks it is a 'necessary tool'. We think it's torture. Not suitable for younger children.

give them a bit of their own medicine, don't have to do it for long just so they get the message. they might not be so keen to dish it out in future.
Subversive, clever and hard-hitting. We need to see more of these kind of films that make people sit up and take notice and hopefully from that, action.
:O it just makes you want to gasp for air...
so powerful. ive put a link of it on all my pages (eg. facebook, myspace, tumblr) so that people can see how horrible torture really is.
MGH - Torture is wrong even for the people who authorise its usage.
i THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT GEORGE BUSH AND THOSE WHO INDORSE THIS TYPE CLEAR TOUTURE SHOULD HAVE IT DONE TO THEM. wE WILL THEN SEE IF THEY THINK THIS IS OK TO DO TO OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.
Could I find this acceptable if Donald Rumsfeld were the person strapped to the board? I'm all for educating the man. But even then, I would cry out at such torture - after all he is also human, however despicable, and must be protected.
i only had a vague idea of waterbording. i guessed from the name what it would be. the public needs a better idea of what is going on so that we can finally act and get things like this abolished globally. what is Bush thinking that it is necessary??? it is dispicable
This film was also reported on CNN in a 10 minute report: http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2008/05/01/newton.uk.drowning.controversy.cnn?iref=videosearch
Did you know this viral was seen well over a million times?
This initially visually simple, and then stunningly dramatic film, is the kind of bleeding edge advert Amnesty needs to push and push hard. Mr Joe Public needs to see the horror of what waterboarding actually is. Let's face it...if even Mr Hitchens does a 180 on his belief and defense of this torture within just seconds (and fair play to him for testing his beliefs on camera), then we'll turn the tide of public opinion with no trouble! Superbly made film by AI.
