A good reminder that others suffer hardships daily. How we should appreciate our lives.
A strong discipline is obtained with resolution in the inside and softness on the outside.
True ambassadors of life!
Magnanimous.
Thank you for all that you do in our name. Great film.
one thing you can do to improve the watching experience is to pause it at the beginning and let the white status bar on the video get to half way before pressing play. this will make sure you have buffered plenty of video and reduce the chances of that annoying wheel showing up in the middle of the film.
I agree with Doc Richard in initiating The Global Index of Human Rights.
It is proposed that in order for the UN to move from a reactive to a proactive stance in human rights, an authoritative and objective reports of countries’ HR records should be analysed and codified into numerical data and published as a ranked table on an annual basis by the UN.
The effect will be that all interested citizens and governments can tell at a glance the relative standing of a country in which they are interested.
However, I feel there is an immediate need to also establish a Global Indicator of economically powerful nations' greed [as opposed to need] in purveying and perpetrating perpetual pernicious poverty preventing the poor from public and electoral participation.
If this outright insidious evil is addressed as a primary global evil - then in accordance with the hierarchy of needs one would be able to effectively address the secondary HR abuses too. Watch: http://www.brasschecktv.com:80/page/493.html

A really good film to share out with all your friends on this of all days.....60 years on ........UDHR...drafted in response to the Holocaust........yet with so much still to defend, on its plate today!
It's a simple message and well put, and it's why I'm a member of Amnesty, because I know that human beings working individually or together can bring about change for the better - let's not despair, but continue to demand stronger human rights for all
Great video. Sadly, Amnesty continues to restrict itself to working reactively on a case-by-case basis, and will not involve itself in changing the framework of statehood at UN level, by installing a Global Human Rights Index http://www.greenparty.org.uk/assets/files/repor....
In this way they are behaving like the policeman who is so busy pulling bodies out of the river that he has not time to ask someone to go upstream and find out who is pushing them in.
To call for such an Index, which would make transparent the HR record of all governments at a glance, would cost AI nothing, and shift AI and the UN to a proactive, rather than a reactive, stance on HR.
powerful, we can make a difference if we stand together. MoB
I have used this video with all my KS3 classes this week and will be using it with KS4 as well as having recommended it to other members of my department. Though I have now watched it at least ten times, it is still an affecting, hairs on the back of the neck video. A wonderful piece
Powerful. Uncomfortable. But thanks!
its a great video.... i get a lump in my throat or cry every time i watch it....
very powerful
A good demonstration of where your donation goes and a nicely put together video.
Reminds all of us we each have something to contribute. Can the video quality be improved?
Congratulations! Very nice video!

View all comments (14 more)A good video that gets the message across albeit on the short side. It really is tragic that in this day and age we still have such suffering throughout the world.
With Chtistmas almost upon us, I felt the video was rather poignant!
We must continue to try to persuade the leaders of democracy that such outrages are unacceptable and they must do much more to alleviate the problem as a matter of priority.
It's truly a powerful message.

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains
seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all
must be most aware of change in the air - however slight -
lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."

What a great film, very powerful. I cryed, hope others do too.
Spot on. Brilliant. Inspiring. Makes you realise just how powerful we are, even thoughwe may not feel it. Quality of film not too good though. Any ideas?
embedding doesn't work on Bebo, but you can upload it from Youtube. Here is the url http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=522KkWPcwDA.
For Facebookers, just share a link to this page instead
Hi kmf - have you tried embedding the video anywhere else? As far as I know, Facebook doesn't actually allow direct video embedding on their pages, so it's likely that's the problem.
Hey guys-
Great video but the embedding doesn't work and I would love to put this on my facebook if possible?
cheers,
k
Brilliant film. I have been after this since seeing it on the secret policemans ball. What is the name of the REM track playing?
WOW, make you think, doesn't it!
(btw, tried the 'embed' on facebook, but it didn't work)
meant to give 5 stars but clicked the wrong button!
Love this film! Hopefully will make ordinary people understand they can help in a small way.
Very eloquent campaign movie. Hope it will push people to take action. Now.
Very powerful
